Tammy is a professional American Sign Language interpreter of 35 years. She is the author of ESTABLISHING A FREELANCE INTERPRETATION BUSINESS: PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE FOR SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS now in its 4th Edition. Tammy has published additional professional pieces such as TEAM INTERPRETING: THE TEAM APPROACH in The Journal of Interpretation, and more recently her non-fiction memoir-based piece, EMBRACING WILLINGNESS AND LETTING GO OF THE WHY, has appeared in the acclaimed online publication, The Manifest-Station, hosted by best-selling author, Jennifer Pastiloff, and the online publication, Illuminations, via Medium.
Tammy is a member of the Non-Fiction Authors’ Association, a nationally certified member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), and the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), and a member of the Oregon Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (ORID).
She received her B.S. in Business Administration in 2005 from City University of Seattle, and her A.A.S. in Sign Language Interpretation from Portland Community College in 1992.
